East Cobb, GA (May 15, 2026) – A woman died following a two-vehicle collision on Thursday morning at an East Cobb intersection. Emergency units responded to the crash at Lower Roswell Road and Old Paper Mill Road at approximately 11:06 a.m. on May 14.
Authorities said Yodit Momo, 57, of Atlanta, was driving a gray 2014 Toyota Camry westbound on Old Paper Mill Road when the vehicle collided with a white 2020 Dodge Ram towing a trailer. Investigators said the Dodge Ram was traveling eastbound on Lower Roswell Road when the Toyota entered its path at the intersection.
The impact caused both vehicles to come to rest on the north shoulder of Lower Roswell Road. Momo suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Cobb Medical Examiner’s Office.
Police identified the occupants of the Dodge Ram as 44-year-old Charles Warren of Acworth, who was driving, and 24-year-old Benjamin Chittick of Kennesaw, who was a passenger. Authorities said neither occupant of the truck suffered injuries in the collision.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the collision.
We extend our sincere condolences to the family of Yodit Momo.
After a fatal intersection crash in Georgia, investigators usually begin by collecting evidence from the scene to determine how the accident happened. Police often review vehicle positions, roadway markings, traffic patterns, and witness statements as part of the investigation. In serious collisions, crash reconstruction teams may also examine speed, visibility, and right-of-way movement to better understand the events leading up to the impact.
Intersection accidents can result in severe or fatal injuries because vehicles frequently collide from the side or at sharp angles. These impacts can be especially dangerous when larger vehicles, such as pickup trucks, strike smaller passenger cars. Survivors of these crashes can face ongoing medical treatment, insurance communication, and questions about the investigation process in the days and weeks after the collision.
Families dealing with a fatal crash may be left handling several difficult responsibilities at once. Funeral arrangements, insurance matters, obtaining official reports, and reviewing medical records can all become part of the process. Because fatal accidents may involve complicated questions about roadway conditions and driver actions, investigations and insurance reviews can take time to complete.
Fatal crashes may also raise wrongful death considerations under Georgia law. These claims generally focus on whether negligence contributed to the accident and what financial losses resulted from the death. Compensation discussions can involve funeral costs, loss of income or support, and other damages that may apply based on the circumstances of the case.
