Man Killed in Semi Rear-End Crash on I-75 in Marietta, GA

Marietta, GA (May 23, 2026) – A Cobb County man died early Friday, May 22, after a collision involving a stopped tractor-trailer on Interstate 75.

Police said the crash happened just before 1 a.m. on a bridge over North Marietta Parkway. Investigators noted that traffic had been backed up following an earlier crash that temporarily shut down all southbound lanes.

According to reports, one tractor-trailer remained stopped in the middle lanes as traffic resumed movement. A second tractor-trailer swerved to avoid the stopped truck and made contact while passing on the left. Moments later, a Volkswagen struck the rear of the stopped tractor-trailer.
