Woman Killed in Head-On Crash on Lake Acworth Dr in Acworth, GA

Acworth, GA (September 5, 2026) – A head-on crash involving a pickup truck and an SUV left one woman dead and two others seriously injured Thursday night, September 3, in Cobb County. The collision occurred around 9:18 p.m. near Lake Acworth Drive and Cottage Oaks Drive.

According to investigators, a 2017 Ford F-150 was traveling eastbound on Lake Acworth Drive, while a 2007 Nissan Armada was traveling westbound. A juvenile girl was riding as a passenger in the Nissan.

Investigators believe the pickup truck driver may have experienced a medical event before losing control and crossing into the westbound lane. The front-left portions of the Ford and Nissan then collided head-on.

After the crash, the Ford stopped between the eastbound and westbound lanes, while the Nissan was redirected toward the entrance of Cottage Oaks Dr. The woman in the Nissan was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead.

The juvenile passenger and the pickup truck driver were both transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
