Marietta, GA (September 23, 2025) - A deadly head-on collision on Powder Springs Street near Laurel Springs Lane on Saturday, September 20, resulted in the death of one driver and serious injuries to three others.
According to the Marietta Police Department, the crash occurred around 6:45 a.m. when a 2007 Lexus RX350, driven by a Mableton resident, crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a southbound 2005 Chevrolet Silverado. Tragically, the Silverado driver, 32-year-old Santiago Zarate-Vicente of Chicago, died at the scene.
Emergency responders transported the Lexus driver and two passengers from the Silverado to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
The Marietta Police Department is leading the investigation into this crash, which caused severe damage to both vehicles. No charges have been filed at this time.
