E-Bike Rider Critically Injured on Veterans Memorial Hwy in Mableton, GA

Mableton, GA (September 1, 2026) – An e-bike rider was seriously injured in a collision with a car on Monday morning, August 31, at the intersection of Veterans Memorial Highway and Mableton Parkway in Mableton.

According to police, a gray 2008 Mercedes-Benz S was traveling eastbound on Veterans Memorial Hwy while a black electric bike was crossing the highway southbound in the crosswalk from Floyd Road. The front of the Mercedes struck the bike’s rear tire.

The collision sent both the Mercedes and e-bike out of control. The Mercedes continued eastbound and came to rest in a nearby parking lot, while the electric bike ended up in the right eastbound lane of Veterans Memorial Highway.

The e-bike rider suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. His name was not released. The Mercedes driver was not injured.
