A wrongful death lawyer can help eligible family members review the circumstances of a fatal scooter crash in Marietta, GA, and explain what legal options may be available. This may involve examining the events leading to the death and identifying records that could be relevant to a potential claim.
One important part of that review is preserving evidence that may help establish what occurred. A lawyer may examine witness statements, photographs, roadway conditions, vehicle information, available video footage, medical records, and official reports to develop a clearer picture of the crash.
Because the crash involved a scooter and a semitruck, insurance coverage may also require careful review. Available policies, claim communications, and information about the vehicles involved could help determine what coverage may apply to certain losses.
Along with reviewing insurance issues, families may need to document the financial costs associated with the death. Medical treatment provided before death, funeral expenses, and other documented costs may be relevant when evaluating the financial effects of the loss.
The financial impact may extend beyond these immediate expenses. A lawyer may also review employment and income records and other information concerning the person who died to determine whether losses related to financial support or other contributions could be considered under applicable law.
As these issues are evaluated, a wrongful death lawyer can help eligible family members organize relevant documentation and understand the claims process. An attorney may also communicate with insurers, review available records, and identify additional information that could be useful to the claim.
